The first edition was published in 1936 and since then sixteen editions have been published to keep it updated with case laws, statutes and developments in the field of law of Evidence. This latest, edition has been revised thoroughly without affecting the originality of the author`s work.

The latest Amendments vide the Criminal Law Amendment Act 2013 (13 of 2013) have been duly incorporated. This edition has been exhaustively updated by incorporating all the important decisions of the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts and English Courts as well.
