After providing an introduction in Part I, the author discusses in Part II the now most resorted to criminal remedy under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act; Part III refers to cheating under section 420 of Indian Penal Code; Part IV elaborates on the Summary Procedure as envisaged under Order XXXVII of CPC and Part V introduces the novel aspect of remedy available under the Consumer Protection Act - the dishonour of cheque amounting to deficiency of service by the bank of the drawer or the drawee.
