Supreme Court on OBC Reservation

Recently, a five Judge bench of the Supreme Court ruled on the reservation policy for Other Backward Classes in Central Higher Educational Institutions. The decision, Ashoka Kumar Thakur v. Union of India, binding on the entire country, examined the constitutional validity of the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act, 2006, which introduced 27% seats for OBCs in State-aided institutions, and the Constitution (Ninety third Amendment) Act, 2005 that inserted Article 15(5).

The book contains the decision of the Constitutional Bench including headnotes and arguments of the several learned Counsel who addressed the Court.
