Takwani’s Civil Procedure is a well-acclaimed, compact and lucid text. It is prescribed in almost all universities in India and is referred to by lawyers and Judges.
The learned author has brought this edition up-to-date with the latest amendments and judicial opinions. Since the last edition, several significant amendments were made to the Code of Civil Procedure. The author has critically examined these changes, included many new topics, and expanded on others: e.g. the doctrine of res judicata; jurisdiction of courts; forum shopping; amendment of pleadings; discovery, inspection and production of documents; interim orders; adjournments; first and second appeals; cross-objections; and revisions. The author has thoroughly revised Part IV relating to execution.
The book, though written for students and junior members of the Bar, is a great reference tool for lawyers and Judges.
