Marriage is an essential part of the civilized socity. In diffrent parts of the world, different societies have developed their own forms and practices.In hindu society marriage was always treated as sacrament and not contract.Once married, the union was permanent and nothing can break it. Except in Hindu society in all other society, it was treated as contract which could be broken by divorce is recogonized by codified law and the husband and wife can secure divorce in given circumstances.
This book is an attempt to consolidate all forms of marriages and divorces Acts, with a view to help the Bench and the Bar and also to make a comparative study of all the forms of marriages.
This book has been duly amended by Marriage Law (Amendment) Act,201 (No. 49 of 2001) and Indian divorce (Amendment) Act, 2001 (51 of 2001).
