This work deals with the fundamentals of International Relations and Organisation in a very simple and descriptive language and style. All the basic concepts have been lucidly explained.
Prof. N.R. Madhava Menon, Retd. Director, National Law School of India University, in his introduction to the book has said, "It (the book) starts with the history of the evolution of the world community and the methods which scholars have employed to study international relations in the past. The book then examines the participants involved in international decision making and the key interests influencing such decisions. ...It goes on to examine settlement of disputes through different methods and presents the mechanics of peaceful change in the world scene.
The latter part of the book discusses the approaches, countries have evolved to prevent wars and conflicts. The book concludes with an appreciation of regional organisations and their role in peace and development.
Professor B.S. Murthy is the doyen of International Law teachers in India with an experience spanning over four decades in teaching and research on the subject. He was actively associated with the framing of the five-year law curriculum, where he advocated the course on International Relations. He understands the object and scope of this subject in legal education more than anyone else.
