"India venerates women as goddesses and mothers. Rivers and the nations are named as women. There have been poets and great men in India who have crusaded that women should be treated on par with men. Right from politics down to the primary level, attempts have been made to debate the status of women, but due to cultural, educational, religious, economic and social reasons, women have become second rate citizens.
In our society we have number of evil culture or practice against women. Dowry, divorce and mismatching are the most uncivilized practices in our modern society. In dowry, divorce and mismatching generally affecting people are women and children. Only in few cases men are the affecting group. The male domination, unwanted social customs and economic dependent of women are the major causes for women's second position in our society.
In our constitution we have many privileges for women. But in practice men always suppressing women. The eradicated these social evils society must create awareness and more concession to women.
This book is one of the most needful one for the present society. Even though we are living in modern society we have lot of gender biased culture."
